In light of the new Call of Duty, and also because I needed to test my equipment and label the working and non-working parts, we got dirty and took some photos

A group of us went to see the Hillsong film. An incredible message.

Below is one of my favorite quotes

If I discover within myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world

Pumpkin Farm from Evan Hunt on Vimeo.

Sunday was awesome.

I started the day by waking up after 7 a.m, which almost never happens. We headed to Dunkin Donuts and got breakfast sandwiches with coffee.

We spent the rest of the day doing the cliche, but very necessary fall activities.

Costume shop, pumpkin farm, apple cider, cinnamon donuts, pumpkin pie, pumpkin carving, scrabble, scary movie, and possibly a lot of pizza.

and..... a little air guitar for the ladies...

i mean..... for the LADY...

Flying Weekend from Evan Hunt on Vimeo.

My dad and i flew back to chicago in the Cessna last weekend. I hadn't been back in a few months so it was overdue.

When I was around 10 or 12 we bought a remote control airplane and tried to fly it. I think I remember it working, but I also remember flying it into a tree and ruining it on the first day.

My dad has gotten back into the hobby lately so we went to the park to watch them fly. These things are way too much fun.

I got a non-rev spot on American Eagle home so it worked out well.

Headed up to Chicago on Sunday to shoot The Academy Is... for AP magazine.

The photo that will run looks nothing like this, but I figured I'd throw a mess up shot on here real quick for some kind of update.

Thanks for checking in.

I'm very ahead with all my student's flight time so I figured I'd take a couple flight periods off for a shoot in Orland Park.

We shot Every Avenue and Sing it Loud for AP before their show at Mojo's. I'll post the photos in a couple months when they run.

September 10

For those of you who I haven't told, I was recently hired by the University of Illinois Institute of Aviation as a full time flight instructor. It may not sound exciting to most, but its something I've worked really hard for, for several years. This means lots of flying and less picture taking. This is actually okay with me, as I am able to take only the jobs I REALLY want and am more passionate about.

Most of those who are close to me have heard the story (probably more than once) of how I've wanted to fly since I ever knew what an airplane was. My Dad is a captain for American Airlines so I grew up loving everything about aviation. If I wasn't pretending I was a co-pilot in my Mom's Saab turning the air conditioning buttons or drawing instrument gauges on the cardboard box that our refrigerator came in, I was probably making my GI JOE's take flight in a toy airplane or driving with my dad singing to "Tree Top Flyer".

Anyways, my parents and my family are the main reason I'm able to do a lot of things today. Whether it was financial help, or my Dad secretly googling the answers to my questions over the phone because he didn't want to admit he wasn't exactly sure what the answer was (love ya dad!), they were a huge help no matter what.

So when I received an e-mail from my pops this evening, warning me about the hazards of fall/winter flying and icing conditions, I realized I never really gave them and everyone else the proper thank you.

This is a thank you, although I'm not sure about the quality of it. Either way, whether it was money, googling my questions, listening to me talk in conjunctions and pretending to be interested (mom!), getting mad at me for not watching my airspeed properly, or making me hit my landing point over and over until I got it right, I am grateful.

To sign off a long and probably dry post, here are some wise words from my Dad himself.

A little icing won't cause the airplane to fall out of the sky, BUT as you know it will quickly change the shape of the wing and increase the stall speed dramatically.

Just remember what your 'ol dad has told you all of these years -

"Speed is life - the only time you're going to fast is when you're getting ready to hit something"

I shot Sarah and Kevin's wedding today and Ross Floyd helped me out.

I've never had so much fun shooting a wedding, nor been as exhausted afterwards. So many photos to sort through.

Check back often. Many updates to come.

Sorry about the lack of updates. I've been flying all day everyday. But on Sundays we put some time aside for family dinner night.

We take turns finding something to cook and try our best not to mess it up too bad.

Last week was stir fry cashew chicken.

As for shoots, we'll be taking photos of Every Avenue and Sing it Loud for AP next weekend and The Academy Is... for AP the weekend after.

Here's a photo from the shoot in Buffalo.

Looking back on it, it probably wasn't a very good idea to be there, but the place was incredible. Its an old abandoned train station and television cameras were on the other side of it filming for some reality ghost show I heard.

more to come.

Jake and I took the gear out back in the woods and played around a bit. He had a cool idea of doing a photo series on the rapture.

This week has been a busy one. I've never had so many equipment problems on one trip before, but it all worked out okay and we got some fun shots for all the shoots.

Shoot for AP tomorrow. Lots more photos later.

We had an all day shoot in Chicago today. More photos coming soon.

Off to New York tomorrow to shoot an Ad book for Glamour Kills. Then Buffalo for a shoot with For What Its Worth.

I'll update sometime on the trip.

The wedding today was a lot of fun. I think we all got some pretty good shots and we met a lot of cool people that we got to hang out with afterwards for a bit.

Up tomorrow for the breakfast voucher at the hotel and then back home.

Rockford - Findlay Flight from Evan Hunt on Vimeo.

Erin and I made a last minute decision to fly the Cessna from Rockford to Findlay Ohio and meet the rest of my family for a hibachi dinner. We also got to take a peek at my sister's new house which is pretty cool.

Off to see G.I. Joe

We started watching Prison Break yesterday at around 7:30 pm. We stopped at 3 am.

I had to sign up for a membership at Hollywood Video so I can finish the series. We're on disc 3 and I feel like they're never going to get out.

Ted and I thought we'd give our try at some shots that give the "Prison Break" feel.

I'm not too happy with these but its something different and fun. We shot this in about 10 minutes in a parking garage at 12 am while starving and crabby. One of these days I have free we'll get the equipment out and do it right.

Pawn Stars is a new show on History Channel and I'm so addicted. Erin and I watched that for a couple hours tonight and then decided to get out of the apartment and go take some photos.

July 25

Erin came down for the weekend and like always, we spent our saturday eating pancakes and taking photos.

I can't take credit for this idea however. Ethan Hale is a follower of my blog and said a couple nice things the other day, so I took a look at his and he had a pretty cool photo idea. This was my take on it so I hope ya don't mind Ethan!

Matt's driving to Chicago from Kansas City today and is stopping by for the night, so that should be fun.

July 22 II

The roommates and I took a drive around town to find somewhere cool to shoot around. We were on our toes the entire time due to a crazed raccoon family behind us that let us know we were not welcome.

July 22

Here's a quick video I put together of some behind the scenes footage from The Chemist shoot we did about a month ago in Michigan City.

July 21

I finally got around to putting the few clips I took from Australia into a quick video. The animals were pretty fun to mess with and our tour guide, Bob, was the greatest story teller we'd ever heard. The video finishes with a very cool secret passage Erin found that puts you out on the water looking at Sydney in the distance.
